IDE-Interface - erste Erfahrungen?

Ich VollDepp hab das IDE Kabel schon am blauen (was normal richtung Mainbord gehört) Stecker am IF angesteckt und die HDD am mittleren IDE-ATA Connector --> ist sich besser ausgegangen *grrrrr* ich Depp.
Den Rest habe ich schon in der Box verlegt. Ich könnt mir ins Knie schießen. Ich als Datentechniker sollte es eigentlich wissen, das wie "BigHardy" schon richtig gesagt hat, ein große Antennenwirkung entsteht, die bei kürzerer Signallaufzeit (=höherer Frequenz) immer mehr zu Störungen führen können.
--> Umgesteckt auf das ENDE des IDE Kabels, und jetzt nimmt er schon 250MB ohne Abbruch und folgendem Log auf:

Lost interrupts habe ich mit den aktuellen JTG-Images auch noch keine gehabt.
Queue-Overflows bekomme ich reproduzierbar auf ARD inkl. aller Tonspuren über Sat.
Wobei ich gerade heute noch die Erfahrung gemacht habe, das bei ARD über Sat eine noch etwas höhere Bitrate sein muss als über Kabel.
Ich habe eben "Die Mauer - Berlin '61" aufgenommen über 4 Nokia DBox2.
Aufnahme über Nokia 500 Kabel (JtG 23.09.2004 12:55 ): 4x DataRate >9MBit/s
Aufnahme über Nokia 500 Kabel (JtG 26.09.2006 16:13 ): 4x DataRate >9MBit/s
Aufnahme über Nokia 600 Sat (JtG 26.12.2005 13:58 ): 10x DataRate >9MBit/s
Aufnahme über Nokia 600 Sat (JtG 26.09.2006 16:13 ): 7x Queue 0 Overflow
Jeweils inkl. Standard-Ton und AC3-Ton.
Aber jetzt noch mal ein paar Fragen an popy:
Das IDE-Kabel kann aber nicht zu stark geknickt sein durch dein Verlegen in der Box?
Eine andere Möglichkeit wäre das IDE-Kabel von einem Ende zu befreien, indem du es möglichst nah hinter dem mittleren Stecker mit einer scharfen Schere oder einem Skalpell abschneidest.
Es dürfen sich natürlich keine "Äderchen" der nebeneinanderliegenden Leitungen berühren.
Genausowenig dürfen die offenen Leitung bei gestecktem Stecker an der IDE-festplatte mit dem Halteblech in Berührung kommen.
Somit erhältst du ein deutlich kürzeres Kabel mit nur 2 Steckern, was bei höheren Frequenzen von Vorteil sein kann.
Hast du beide Sync-Optionen eingeschaltet ?

Avia-Watchdog aus?
Jede andere Einstellung der genannten Optionen haben die anzahl Queue-Overflows bei meiner Box erhöht.

Da muss ich gurgel natürlich Recht geben.gurgel hat geschrieben:mhh dann teste mal noch ein bisschen, aber Lost Int darf eigentlich nie vorkommen. Die vielen Queoverflows sind auch nicht normal.

Vor allem das Deaktivieren des Writecache der Festplatte hat bei meiner Kabelbox die avia_gt_dmx: queue 0 overflow (count: 2) abgestellt.

Stimmt die Overflows sind hänger, er nimmt zwar jetzt am Stück auf (aber auch erst seit der WriteCache deaktivierung und erhöhung des Ringpuffers auf 75) aber ich hab durch die Overflows noch immer hänger in der Aufnahme.
Ich hab immer nur die Standard TonSpur aktiviert um die Datenrate zu senken.
Das mit dem IDE Kabel abschneiden ist ne Gute Idee, ich glaub das Test ich noch.
Die beiden Sync Optionen in den Direktaufnahmeeinstellungen sind derzeit alle aus. Hab noch niergends gelesen das man die einschalten sollte --> sollte ich??
Hardwaresections und Treiber und Bootoptionen und bei den Aufnahmeeinstellungen & der Watchdog sind aus.
Ich werd am Abend mal die Sync Optionen einschalten und schauen obs besser wird!

Wenn man aber eine bearbeitete Init_ide in var/etc hat, muss man -W0 noch in der hdparm-Zeile hinter -S60 zusätzlich einfügen.
Versuch mal die part2 testeshalber als ext2 zu mounten, um das Journaling abzuschalten.
Bei mir hat das deutlich was gebracht, allerdings habe ich meine part2 schon als ext2 eingerichtet.
Es gibt zwar auch Nachteile bei ext2 (siehe andere Beiträge), aber bei mir sind die noch nicht aufgetreten.
Riker wird seine Gründe für ext3 haben, aber bei meiner Konstellation läuft ext2 momentan besser.

Ich komme auch besser mit ext2 klar.

Seit dem Einbau der HDD hat sich meine Box öfters mal aufgehangen und nicht mehr reagiert. Die Lösung: Kleine Kühlkörper mit Wärmeleitkleber auf die Chips.... Ich habe dann noch zusätzlich n 80mm Lüfter (auf 7Volt laufend, Ader rot und gelb von der HDD) eingebaut.
Jetzt ist die Box fein kühl und rennt stabil
Wobei ich die Kühlkörper und den Lüfter gleichzeitg eingebaut habe,
es kann sein dass auch nur die Kühlkörper schon ausreichend sind.
Damit funktioniert es prima.

ich werd jetzt mal ein anderes IDE Kabel nehmen und den SLAVE Stecker abschneiden. Wie kann ich meine Daten Partition auf ext2 bringen?? die Datei etc/init.d/init_ide ist readonly (wahrscheinlich im Flash)??
Ausserdem werd ich mal nen Lüfter reinbauen da sie sich manchmal aufhängt --> zu heiß?!

Ich habe eben mal von ca. 18:50 Uhr bis 22:20Uhr aufgenommen.
Die Datei ist ca. 7,56GB gross.
Im Bootlog tauchte kein dmx_Queue_Overflow auf.
Die Stellen die ich mal im TS-Stream per Movieplayer begutachtet habe, hatten keinen erkennbaren Fehlen.
Aufgrund der Transferperformance von der DBox zum PC habe ich den Stream noch nicht weiter untersuchen können.
Aber sieht bisher gut aus, auf jeden Fall deutlich besser.

du musst die init_ide aus etc/init.d kopieren nach var/etc
im Image vom 26.09. ist -W0 schon in der hdparm-Zeile drin.
Wenn du ext2-Test machen willst, änderst du im mount-befehl in der init_ide von ext3 in ext2
Nicht vergessen die Rechte der Init_Ide auf 755 zu setzen.
Danach die box neu booten.
Die lost interrupt sollten aber komplett verschwinden, unabhängig von ext2 oder ext3.

Funzt auch, bis auf queue-Overflows bei ARD inkl. aller Tonspuren über Sat.
Ansonsten aber keine Probleme.
